Five Tribes Story Conference

The Five Tribes Story Conference is a multi-disciplinary conference designed to merge practice and theory in interpretation of folklore, oral tradition, scholarship and literature of the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek) and Seminole Tribes. It is a gathering of scholars and artists (oral storytellers, musicians, painters) engaging the public to discuss humanities, the importance of culture, and emphasizing the role of stories, whether oral, painting or song, in every family and cultural history. The featured author for the 2012 conference is Robert J. Conley PhD, a member of the United Keetoowah Band of the Cherokees. There is a registration fee to attend the conference. Evening concerts are free and open to the public.
