This spring, summer, and fall, six small towns in Oklahoma will explore and reflect on the responsibilities of citizenship when they host Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Steet (MoMS) program. Running for six weeks at each site, the exhibit opens at the Nowata Historical Society & Museum and will then travel to the Bristow Train Depot & Museum, Anadarko Community Library, Cheyenne-Roger Mills County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the Al Harris Library at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, and finally the Bethany Library.

On July 20, 2024, join the Anadarko Community Library as they open their leg of the Voices and Votes tour with a day full of events!

Opening Day Activities:

• 9:00 AM - Opening Speakers including Mayor Kelley McGlothlin, Patrick Redbird, House of Representatives member Tony Hasenbeck, Teacher of the year Cody Farr, Ex-mayor Beverly Wilhoite, and Associate Pastor FBC Blake Taylor

• 10:00 AM - Ribbon Cutting

• After the Ribbon Cutting, there will be a day of entertainment featuring Blake Taylor and Friends, Patrick Redbird, Christopher Dysinger, Brighton Varner, Tone Gyah Dae, and Richard Clift Jr.
