Oklahoma Humanities Grants More Than $100,000 to Diverse Local Programs
(Oklahoma City—October 1, 2024) – Thirteen cultural and educational organizations from across the state will receive awards totaling $103,448 from Oklahoma Humanities (OH) to fund important and engaging projects that explore diverse cultural themes and multiple perspectives.
During the highly competitive fall round, OH received 28 eligible grant applications from 26 organizations. “We are excited to support these programs that highlight underrepresented stories, foster learning, and encourage discussion,” said Caroline Lowery, Executive Director.
Grant recipients include: Freedom Center of Oklahoma City; Friends of American Song Archives; Oklahoma City University; Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center; Seminole Nation Historical Society; Thick Descriptions; Tri-City Collective; Chautauqua Council of Enid; Friends of the Lawton Public Library; Tulsa Chautauqua; Oklahoma Historical Society; East Central University; and the City of Miami, Oklahoma.
