Oklahoma Humanities Grants Nearly $100,000 to Diverse Local Programs

May 14, 2024

(Oklahoma City—May 14, 2024) – Thirteen cultural and educational organizations from across the state will receive awards totaling $99,274 from Oklahoma Humanities (OH) to fund engaging, public projects that explore diverse cultural themes and perspectives.

“This was a very competitive grant round," said Caroline Lowery, Executive Director, "and we are proud to support these programs that examine underrepresented narratives, encourage discussion and reflection, and help more Oklahomans connect to the humanities."

As the nonprofit, state partner for the National Endowment for the Humanities, OH brings people together across age, background, and politics through programming and community grants that support book discussions, exhibitions, film festivals, teacher workshops, and more. OH accepts grant applications twice a year to encourage public humanities programming that supports its mission to strengthen communities by helping Oklahomans learn about the human experience, understand new perspectives, and participate knowledgeably in civic life.

As individual programs are finalized, event information will be posted on our website. For a complete list of grant recipients and project titles:
