Technology. Not a field of the humanities, but as our new issue reveals, not as far afield as we might think. In our Spring/Summer issue of Oklahoma Humanities magazine, we’re exploring the algorithms and x-rays making Herculaneum scrolls legible after nearly 2,000 years; the competing anxiety and acceptance surrounding AI and its applications; how Greenwood Rising invites visitors into the past through holography; the bionic potential of treating rheumatoid arthritis; the popularity and possibilities of genetic genealogy, and more. Technology and the humanities aren’t incompatible. They are interconnected.

Authors and contributors include: Jeff Provine, Dr. Thomas Conner, Cady S. Shaw, Dr. W. Brent Seales, Christy Chapman, Nancy Fagan, and CeCe Moore.

Due to the recent cancellation of our general operating grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities, we regret that we are unable to print this issue.
