Punished for Dreaming: School Reform & Healing

Event Details

Oklahoma State University welcomes New York Times bestselling author, Dr. Bettina Love, who will use her text, Punished for Dreaming: How School Reform Harms Black Children and How We Heal, to contextualize the past and address the current state of education for Black and Brown students.  The program includes the work of Dr. Stevie Johnson and other artists featured on the album, Punished for Dreaming, which supports Dr. Love's book.  The program will end with a live listening party.  

6:00 to 7:15 p.m. - Book lecture with Dr. Love

7:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Artists' talk and panel discusstion with Dr. Johnson

8:15 to 9:15 p.m. - Live listening party

9:00 p.m. - Greenwood Block Party

All events take place at Fulton Street Books & Coffee.
