We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union. The Constitution’s call to action is clear. Democracy requires work, intent, and attention. The state of our union and the progress we make falls to each of us. To understand the current state, we must look to the past. Tribal sovereignty, freedom of speech, the right to vote, and the Fourth Amendment are up for discussion in this special issue.
